Triangle Business Journal Highlights TruLab’s Strategic Growth Plans

July 8, 2024

Research Triangle Park, NC — A recent article in Triangle Business Journal, the region’s preeminent business news source, highlights TruLab’s strategic move to Research Triangle Park (RTP) along with the groundbreaking work the organization is doing to help accelerate drug development through technology.

In an interview with Staff Writer Zac Ezzone, Chief Operating Officer David Chung explained why four top pharmaceutical companies and numerous biotechs now rely on TruLab to provide real-time oversight for their clinical trials.

“When recording data on paper,” Ezzone writes, “it can take clinical trial site staff weeks to discover a protocol deviation or other issue. Chung said TruLab’s technology can identify these issues in real-time and coordinate with trial staff to solve them immediately.”

Ezzone continues: “Chung cited a recent example involving a patient in an oncology study in New York. The clinical trial site staff took a screening sample for the patient that would determine whether or not they could be included in the study. The sample was supposed to be sent to a lab in Boston, but the clinical research coordinator attached the wrong courier lab to the sample, directing it instead to California. TruLab was able to detect the issue and contact the trial site to correct the problem before it was too late.”

Ezzone also reports that TruLab has achieved triple-digit revenue growth annually for the past four years and anticipates continuing this trend in 2024 — without any venture capital. “We’ve reached a point where we can consistently deliver value to our clients,” Chung said, noting that most clients have expanded their contracts due to TruLab’s impactful services.

Moving the organization’s headquarters to RTP, Ezzone explains, accommodates TruLab’s growth plans, including adding around 100 jobs in the next few years.
